The basic opening we provide our customers includes removing the winter cover and storing it for the summer. Then we inspect all the equipment and make sure it's operational and begin to make it operational for the summer months. This includes cleaning and prepping the pool filter if needed and turning on all electrical and gas components. The pool water chemistry is then throughly tested and adjusted accordingly. If the pool needs a major adjustment it will be and additional cost and to customer will be notified. When the pool is beginning to be prepared for the summer the most important thing is that the water is moving and going through the filtered and the water chemistry is be adjusted properly and distributed throughout the pool. Depending on that previous winter we have the pool might open different than other years so home owners shouldn't expect the same results every year. Sometimes it takes a couple visits to get the pool clean and clear.

When you are ready to close up the pool for the winter we put you on the schedule as soon as possible! Most people plan their closing late summer, early fall. Sometimes the closings get pushed around if we end u having a warm fall and homeowners want to see the pool open longer. The only thing you have to be aware of is a cold weather streak below freezing that could freeze up your pool. Outside of that our closing service includes the following:
Removal of large debris that could stain pool surface over winter. Any major removal of debris will be notified to homeowner through photos and be an extra charge. Water level will be lowered to appropriate height depending on pool type. Vinyl liners don't need much water removal because the weight of the water is what holds the liner in place and keeps it from drying out. Vinyl liners are usually lowered to the bottom of the skimmer mouth. Concrete/plaster pools usually get lowered 16-18 inches from the tile line. After water removal the remaining water gets balanced so its stays clear during the winter months. Then all the equipment gets blown out so no water is in the system. This is the most important step because if water stays in the system and freezes it will expand and crack any plumbing. After blowing out the equipment and adding chemicals and additional pool equipment will be stored for the winter. The last step is the winter cover goes on and is secured. Any problems with the cover will be brought to the attention of the homeowner. Pretty often mice like to make nests out of the pool covers. Winter pool visits are also available for purchase that can make your pool open smoother in the spring please contact for more info.
